the kids from the whoah video sat behind me at graduation today. 

Mr Fyner did work today, especially vic. Kid laid down siqq (2 q’s) key riffage on the demos. We also decided to bring back and oldie with a new break and shorter choruses. I have to put some serious work in on that tomorrow so we can do a quick demo of it on saturday. This shit is turning out to be some of our best stuff. We talked today and really just want to have fun with the band and our music. We (especially I) was trying to be too serious with songs and lyrics. Funny thing is that saying fuck it has actually made our stuff better. Now i’ll retire to whispering lyric ideas into a microphone while everyone in my house sleeps.

It’s creation and these photos are old news, but the expected release date is now pretty much official: July 13th. Can’t fucking wait to get this thing. I currently have the curve, which is amazing, but this is supposed to be 10x better than the curve. The tour is a combination of everything users love from past blackberry models. I wish they would do a flip on this with white panels and black lettering, i think it would look dope. 

I’m a fan of Apple and I have a macbook, but seriously fuck the iphone and it’s apps. The last time i needed to level a shelf i used a level, not my phone.

What do those letters stand for?

i know that it’s all part of the fun, but getting sniped out of auctions really sucks. I’ve been trying to win a mg-1 for about a month and always lose by 5 dollars every time. I’ve tried the sniping technique, i’ve tried the high bid to begin technique, and it’s always a loss by $5.

I attempted the snipe tonight on an MG-1 JB had told me about. It was at about $133 around 7pm. Between that time and 950pm it rose to about $200. Between 945pm and 1010 pm (the ending time) it rose to $275. Why the fuck do people nickel and dime items up high in the last 30 - 20 minutes of bidding. If you’re gonna snipe something do it at the end of the auction, fucking assholes.  Last week was a blow out, i thought i could win one for cheap that was ending at 4am on a sunday. I stayed up to snipe it and it ended at $545. At 3am, the price was around $250 or so. Again, Fucking assholes. I have terrible luck with the MG-1. 

I guess i’ll have to just start tooling around with the huge moog module boxes my dad found in his barn’s attic the other day. This is a pic of the modules with my dad’s old ass nerd friend who gave them to him.

This new shit / old jams redone big time, are way different from our stuff on the EP. In only 2 days we got drums, guitars, bass, and vocals done on 2 out of 3 songs we’re demoing. On Thursday we’re doing keys, the last song on bass, and some gang chants which consist of OUGHs and LET’S GO in the background of the songs. JK. We’re also going to discuss a cover song idea we’ve had for a while, but just never came to working on. We may just do the demo though and keep it as an LOL track for ourselves. 

2 of the songs are absolutely killer sounding. Guitars came out sweet and i think i should become a professional bass recording engineer. Bass sounds huge on these demos and are right as rain in the mix…. also props to JB’s playing skillz. 

What sucks is that we have a jam we’ve been kicking around forever and it’s changed a bunch. Musically it’s an A/A-, but lyrically it’s a blank page. Shit sucks. So now i’m just standing in front of a microphone saying random shit to the song and trying to piece some stuff together. I got a first verse, but a chorus is far from making any sense. Also our other jam “ain’t no lobos” is just 3 chords over and over again with some words in the middle. It’s one of those like experimental jams, so i spent an hour of my life fucking around with my 2 delays and getting some space landing sounds, but i’m just not happy with anything that i get. It’s either great or absolute shit. I think i’m trying to add “too” much to the song. 

Here’s a pieced together snapshot of the crack studio i set up. I’m going to eventually reconfigure the room so i can get a more permanent / better set up. But here it is currently.
